FanDuel Special Olympics Partnership: Promoting Sports Inclusivity for All
FanDuel has announced an exciting new partnership with the Special Olympics, aiming to boost awareness of the organization’s mission: sports belong to everyone. This collaboration highlights sports inclusivity, sharing inspiring stories and tackling healthcare disparities faced by people with disabilities.
Why FanDuel is Championing Special Olympics Inclusivity
FanDuel draws inspiration from the Special Olympics’ core values and heartfelt employee stories. A prime example is FanDuel Canada General Manager Dale Hooper, whose daughter has competed in Special Olympics swimming and rhythmic gymnastics since age six.
Hooper shared in a statement:
“The Special Olympic athletes are just different because their love of the sport and what they’re doing is what shines. There’s still competitiveness in Special Olympics, but there’s also love for everybody who’s out there trying.”
Hooper emphasizes shared values between FanDuel and Special Olympics—both foster environments where everyone can thrive authentically. This partnership spotlights promoting inclusivity through sport while addressing daily challenges like healthcare access for those with disabilities.
FanDuel Advocacy & Public Policy VP Keita Young added:
“We believe sports have the power to drive positive impact by promoting physical wellness, teamwork, social connection, and community pride.”
FanDuel Backs Local Special Olympics Initiatives
FanDuel is expanding its support to grassroots efforts, prioritizing community-driven impact. Key initiatives include Polar Plunge challenges, fun fundraising events for local Special Olympics chapters.
Upcoming FanDuel-backed Polar Plunge events:
• Maryland
• Minnesota
• Illinois
Young explained:
“We are continuing to evolve towards a more community-based impact strategy, one that prioritizes listening to communities, investing locally, and partnering with organizations that are already doing great work.”
This move aligns with FanDuel’s commitment to local community initiatives and sports for everyone, amplifying the Special Olympics’ reach.
